Happy Halloween! // Blush Costume Party
Halloween has always been a favorite holiday, but I love it even more being a mom. The magical spookiness that lingers all of October is the perfect way to transition into fall + the holidays. This year, my husband worked on Halloween, so I wanted a way to celebrate with him home. We decided to have our very first costume party! Being a girl mom with two toddlers, I wanted to create a spooky but happy/whimsical feel. I found some inspiration through Lauren Conrad‘s recent party, and because we believe in all things pink for every holiday this was perfect.
For this balloon garland, I purchased 5″ and 11″ blush/nude + coral solid balloons from Etsy. The star, moon and ghost face balloons are all Meri Meri. I tied all of the solid balloons to a single string, and then hung with command hooks. I used tacky glue dots to stick the other balloons to the wall and garland itself. I recommend creating your balloon garland no sooner than the night before your event to ensure it’s full!
All of the paper products are from Meri Meri, my favorite go-to for party supplies. The spider web table runner was a great Target dollar spot find. My purple stemless wine glasses are from Home Goods, the candlestick holder and macrame table runner is from Anthropologie.
This bar cart c/o Anthropologie is the most fun to decorate! I found Halloween inspired bottles of wine + liquor from World Market. I spray painted styrofoam tombstones pink, it’s definitely not a party unless SOMETHING is spray painted 😉 Tinsel stir sticks from Etsy, left over balloons from the garland in the bottom and fresh florals on top!
Easy + festive is my favorite, and these treats didn’t disappoint! For the ghosts, I cut Milano cookies with a scalloped vegetable knife, and then dipped them in melted white chocolate. You’ll want to be sure to let the white chocolate cool a bit first so it doesn’t melt the inside of the cookie. I used black royal icing for the face. For the donuts, I used strawberry Hostess mini donuts decorated with black royal icing.
Mummy pretzels stick are pretzel rods dipped into melted white chocolate, I used these dipping containers from Wilton and they made it so easy. I pressed eyes into the chocolate and then let them cool. I then drizzled more white chocolate for the mummy effect.
Stella requested Cinderella, and Harlow made the cutest Gus Gus. Their tutus are c/o Plum, Stella’s peplum top is c/o June & January, her headband is Wunderkin Co. and choker is from Etsy. Harlow’s tee is from Amazon and Gus Gus ears are c/o The Wishing Elephant.
Hope you + your family had the most magical Halloween!
